Morning Insomnia

i choose and exhausting lifestyle.  i dont use alarm clocks*, but i rarely sleep in.  And it is unusual for me to have trouble going to sleep, my body grabs up what ever rest is available and once i am laying down, it knows that as much sleep as it can get should be scarfed up.

But in the morning something else happens.  The sun comes in the window and i wake up and my brain starts “What needs to happen today?  Who do i need to talk with?  What emails are pressing? What is at the top of my procrastination queue?” These questions and some combination of fear about things not getting done and excitement about the projects in front of me, typically gets me out of bed within moments of waking, unless i have compelling company with me, which i am lucky enuf to have occasionally.

there are forces pushing me from sleep

i do take quite some naps.  i believe in naps.

*Okay, i do use an alarm clock on mornings on which i have 6:30 AM tofu shifts.  What is perhaps not so strangely true is that i usually wake up just before the 6 AM alarm.
